we facilitate Direct Trade.

That means we handle introductions, export and import, financing, logistics, and more.

Your Total Price is made of three parts:
FOB
The price the producer sets.
Service Fee
To help with platform infrastructure, trade documentation, and customer support for your Direct Trade purchase.
Service You Select
Add-ons like freight & import, warehousing, financing, or insurance.

Volume-based levels with automatic price breaks.

The more you source, the more you save.
No need to ask for a better price — we automatically give you the best rate based on your purchase volume.

Our transparent volume-based levels (1-5) apply to roasters buying less than 320 (60kg) bags each year through Algrano. Levels reward both volume and loyalty, with automatic upgrades as you grow.

And the best part? You'll never move back. Your level is based on lifetime total volume, so every purchase moves you forward.

What is the actual cost?

There are many components to sourcing coffee directly. We show the different elements of our service and how it’s priced - to roasters and producers.

The final price you pay will typically be based on FCA terms in Europe and FOT terms in the USA. It  includes shipping costs and fees.

Free On Board (FOB)

‍

The price of coffee, exporting fees and seller fee if applicable. 

For Farmgate Pricing - ask the Seller directly. You can message through the platform, by whatsapp or instagram. Whatever works best for you both. We are not gatekeepers.

Logistics Costs 

Calculated based on country of origin, container shipping cost, destination country and warehouse, and destination country and warehouse.  For our Discovery to Delivery service this is displayed when you add coffee to the cart. It’s labeled as Freight, import & outhousing on the platform.

Service fees

Algrano Service Fees 

We can help you source coffees directly in a number of ways, from finding you great producers and ideal coffees, to quality assurance, shipping, import and storage and financing. You choose which services you want for each lot you source, and Algrano’s service fee adjusts accordingly.

Base

The fee is directly tied to the overall volume you source through Algrano, and automatically decreases as you source more through the marketplace.

Matchmaking

Matchmaking fees apply when Algrano finds a new producer you trade with. The fee is tied to the FOB price and decreases steeply with every year you keep sourcing through the same producer, rewarding long term relationships. 

Quality Assurance and Risk Management 

Algrano's Q-graders independently evaluate the coffee when it's listed, before it's shipped and once it lands. This ensures the coffee has the same characteristics that made you choose it. If for any reason there is a quality issue, the risk falls on Algrano, not the roaster. This is a key part of the Discovery to Delivery service, and the fee component is calculated as a small percentage of the FOB price.

Logistics

This is what Algrano’s Shipping Service fee is based on, and is also a component of the Discovery to Delivery fee. It covers any services in exporting, importing, shipping, in housing and insurance of your coffee as it travels across the globe. Tied to the volume of a contract and gets cheaper as you contract more.

Pay as you go for financing, warehousing and delivery to your roastery.

Algrano offers competitive rates for Financing the coffee, has a great network of warehouses, and enables you to schedule releases and deliveries to your roastery at the click of a button. 

Most roasters use these services too - it’s up to you.
