The role

As a Destination Logistics Manager US, you will be our logistics Swiss knife that handles various tasks along the Algrano supply chain. 

You'll be the first point of reference for all things concerning Algrano’s logistics in the US and Canada. You will be the main responsible for organising and managing the coffee safely from our warehouses to our clients. You liaise with the warehouses regarding the stock management of our coffees.

You will also take care of the inbound part of the container arriving from origin, instructing our warehouses timely and accordingly. 

Your responsibilities include:

In this exciting and new role you will have the opportunity to work along the entire Algrano coffee supply chain. You will:

Oversee the warehouse release process: You are responsible for ensuring that all release orders are correctly and timely processed by our warehousing partners. You coordinate each pick up with all stakeholders involved, and manage consolidations if required. You will also manage stock, and the invoicing process.

Plan and execute road transports: You organise transports in a timely manner to our clients, and follow up on the delivery process. You keep the clients updated about the delivery. You check and approve carrier invoices, and monitor profit and losses on transports. You also follow up with our providers and clients in case of claims. 

Inbound shipment process: You liaise with the Algrano origin logistics team on the whereabouts of the container and the shipping documents, and you are responsible for alerting the warehouses proactively about the incoming container shipment. You know exactly the import requirements in destination, and will support the origin logistics team on any queries.

Key Elements You'll Bring to the Role

  • Road transport knowledge: You know the all ins and outs regarding palletised truck transports. Road transport and all its requirements are part of your DNA. You enjoy optimising transport set ups, and you get a thrill of getting deliveries timely to our clients. Terms like EXW, FOT, LCL hold no secrets to you. 
  • Coffee import expertise: ideally, you have had some touchpoints in previous roles on coffee importation in destination. You know your way around coffee contracts, shipping instructions, bills of lading and inhousing instructions.
  • Problem solver: You have a can-do-mentality and you are not afraid to face issues when they arise. You love to find solutions with all our stakeholders, to deliver the coffee on time to our clients.
  • Highly independent and proactive: Self-motivated and initiative-driven, you’re a natural at identifying opportunities for process improvement and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Attention to detail: You have great organisational skills, and the daily drive of logistic operations gives you a thrill.  
  • Strong language skills: You are fluent in English. Your communication skills are exceptional, both in writing and speaking, essential for engaging with our global customers and team members. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Based in the US, Canada, or Central America: Equipped for remote work, your hours will align with US time zones. Additionally, you're open to traveling to Europe to spend time with the entire Algrano team several times a year.
