The role

As a Green Coffee Quality & Samples Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of quality control and sample management at Algrano. Your role is split into 60% sample handling and 40% quality evaluation, ensuring that our protocols are followed at all times. You’ll work closely with Sourcing, Sales, Logistics, and Marketing.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Cupping Preparation: Roast coffee samples, weigh and grind beans, and set up the cupping table.
  • Sample Management: Track and register incoming coffee samples, package and ship samples to roasters.
  • Lab Organization & Admin: Keep the lab running smoothly, ownership and improvement of processes and support with administrative tasks.
  • Quality Control: Assist in evaluating offer, pre-shipment and arrival samples for coffees listed on Algrano’s platform.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Manage and execute on the regular cleaning and maintenance of roasting, grinding & coffee equipment for safety and performance.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure timely ordering of packing materials and office supplies

Your profile

You are a coffee professional with minimum 2 years of experience in coffee quality. You thrive in a structured environment, love fine-tuning processes, and have an excellent eye for detail.

  • Strong Organizational Skills: You are detail-oriented and enjoy improving efficiency through process optimization.

  • Self-Management: You prioritize tasks effectively and work independently.

Your experience, background and skills:

  • Experience working in a coffee trading or coffee roasting environment with exposure to green coffee quality (QC, sourcing, roasting)
  • Experience in administrative tasks and process optimization
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage
  • Eligible to work in Switzerland, you hold a CH/EU/EFTA passport, or you hold a B or C residence permit.
  • Able to commute within 1 hour of Algrano’s office or willing to relocate (daily office presence required).

Bonus points for:

  • You are a licensed Q Arabica Grader or you can demonstrate a similar level of expertise
