Accounting Intern (50% part-time)

Overview
As an Accounting Intern at Algrano, you will play an important role in performing all the daily tasks needed to keep running the business. You’ll also be able to perform the full Payable and Receivable cycle. We’re looking for a motivated and ambitious individual with a background in economics. Core Responsibilities
As an Accounting Intern, you will play an essential role in supporting the Finance team with day-to-day accounting operations and ongoing projects. Your key tasks will include:
- Supporting accounts payable processes, including invoice entry and payment tracking
- Supporting accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry and payment tracking
- Supporting the general ledger by preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate records
- Participating in bank reconciliations and financial transaction reviews
Details
Account Payable:
- You will be fully involved in the process of booking the payable and assign the invoices to the correct cost accounts
- You will manage the creation of payment runs
- You will be in charge of the reconciliation of outgoing payments
General Ledger:
- You will support the accounting team helping to process the daily General Ledger bookings (e.g. bookings needed for the bank reconciliation)
Account Receivable:
- You will support the accounting team helping with the account receivable reconciliation
- The main activities are bank reconciliation and managing the dunning process
Your Profile Experience, Skills and Strengths
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding (or willingness to learn) of accounting principles and processes, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort with accounting software (experience with ERP systems such as Abacus is a plus)
- Proficiency in English (additional languages, particularly German, are a plus)
- Analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- Motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced and innovative environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Collaborative mindset with a problem-solving attitude
